Book I is the first of an ongoing series that I intend to make a new version of every year. I consider it a sketchbook — not in preparation for something specific, but more so as a space for experimentation, play, and the literal practice and honing of bookmaking.

Drawing from a selection of photographs taken over the course of the year, I respond to cues from found textures, shapes, and color. Cutting, painting, and composing spreads that come to life through sequencing and movement. Whether pages are turned or the structure is stood up and fanned out, the book becomes an active, evolving form.
